Northumbrian Water has awarded a £1 million telemetry equipment contract for telemetry outstations to two equipment suppliers.
NWL use telemetry to monitor and control its remote assets, including pumping stations, treatment plants and service reservoirs. Traditionally, telemetry consists of a remote field device which is linked to a central management system. The devices provide a wide variety of data and information for the purpose of monitoring, alarming and controlling plant and other equipment.
The framework is to support Northumbrian Water’s proposed telemetry outstation replacement programme through the appointment of telemetry outstation manufacturers.
Schneider Electric Ltd and Servelec Systems Ltd were the contract winners - a total of five firms were in the bidding for the work.
