May Gurney awarded £20m pa contract by Bristol Water

May Gurney has been awarded a new 16-month contract with Bristol Water worth £20m per annum.

In October 2010, Bristol Water awarded May Gurney a new AMP5 contract for the New Lay Trunk Mains Framework which runs until March 2015. One of the contracts awarded under the framework, the £22m Bristol Resilience Scheme, was recently completed on time and within budget.

Under the terms of the latest contract, May Gurney will deliver network repair and maintenance and metering support services for a 16-month period starting in June 2013.

Mike Thompson, managing director, May Gurney Regulated Services Sector, said:

“We are delighted to have been awarded this new contract.

"May Gurney's proven track record of assured operational delivery, continuous improvement and innovative service design - all based on deep, long-term client relationships - means that we are well placed to secure the best outcomes for our clients and their customers.”

The Bristol Water contract is one of three recent new contracts awarded to May Gurney by existing water company clients, which in total are worth around £80m. It has won contracts with United Utilities and Anglian Water in recent weeks.
