The Mining Remediation Authority (MRA) has awarded a major contract for strategic systems development and support with an estimated value of £23.618 million (inc VAT).

The MRA went out to tender to find a supplier to provide a third-party digital resource contract to deliver resources for the ongoing development and maintenance of the organisation's bespoke enterprise mining information systems and main data platform (Inferis), as well as supporting the wider digital needs of the organisation and the development and implementation of emerging technologies.
The procurement process followed a three stage Competitive Flexible Procedure as follows:
- 11 requests to participate were received in stage 1.
- 5 suppliers passed stage 1 and were invited to stage 2.
- 4 suppliers submitted bids in stage 2.
- 2 suppliers passed stage 2 and were invited to stage 3.
- 1 tender assessed in the final stage.
The contract has been awarded to CGI IT UK Ltd - earliest date the contract will be signed is 1 February 2026.
Current estimated start and end contract dates are 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031 with further possible extension options to 31 March 2034.
