Northumbrian Water has awarded an AMP8 contract for Electrical Compliance Testing (PIT) programme with an estimated value of approx. £522,000 (ex VAT).

The water company has a requirement for a single supplier to carry out a comprehensive three-year electrical compliance regime for Periodic Inspection Testing (PIT) across the Northumbrian Water region.
The demand for PIT services is driven by the need to ensure electrical safety and compliance with regulations such as the BS7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989.
The outsourced service will cover approximately 74 small sites, 46 medium sites and 35 large sites per year.
Northumbrian Water will retain responsibility for some of the work internally on high-risk sites.
The contract may be extended for a further two-year period, subject to satisfactory performance.

Test Incorporated Ltd. has been awarded the contract, one of three companies who tendered for the work.
