Northern Ireland Water has gone out to tender with a framework contract for the supply, delivery, installation,calibration, maintenance and repair of equipment for NIW Science Centres with an estimated value of c£4.3 million (inc VAT).

Theframework contract will be used for the purchase of replacement equipment, BAU requirements and the supply of equipment for the water company’s new Science Centres, including consumables, spare parts, maintenance, calibration, installation, repair and servicing. Where required, the framework may also be used for the purchase of consumables, spare parts, maintenance, calibration, repair and servicing of existing laboratory equipment.
In addition, NI Water's Customer Service Delivery Directorate may also utilise theframework for the purchase of sampling, field work and related operational equipment.
The Framework is split into the following 9 Lots:
- Lot 1 - General Laboratory
- Lot 2 - Autoclaves/Agarclaves
- Lot 3- Automation/Robotics
- Lot 4- Inorganic Metals
- Lot 5- Chromatography
- Lot 6- Benchtop Instrumentation
- Lot 7- Bacteriological Equipment
- Lot 8-Cryptosporidium
- Lot 9- Innovation/Miscellaneous
Current estimated start and contract dates are 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2031 with a further possible extension option to 31 March 2033.
Deadline for submission of enquiries about the framework is 11:59pm on 3 February 2026 and deadline for submission of requests to participate is 11:59pm on 10 February 2026.
Estimated award decision date is 30 March 2026.
