United Utilities has awarded an AMP8 contract for the supply and delivery of a single containerised sludge screening and declassification unit worth an estimated £558,000 (inc VAT).

The procurement of the unit will achieve technical compatibility and standardisation with the company's existing fleet - the company said its operatives are familiar and trained to operate and maintain the specialist mobile equipment, reducing any health and/or safety risks.
The contract has been awarded to CDE – the firm is headquartered in Cookstown, Northern Ireland.Earliest date the contract will be signed is 18 August 2025.
In a transparency notice, United Utilities said the decision to award the contract to a single supplier had been made for technical reasons - the sludge screening and classification unit is required to provide technical compatibility and standardisation with the existing fleet of the same units.
