Southern Water has awarded an AMP8 contract for power supply equipment and services across its entire region which covers Kent, Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight worth an estimated £93.8 million (ex VAT).
Southern has a requirement to ensure 24/7 365 that they have fully maintained fixed and mobile power generators, transformers, Uninterruptible Power Supply, switchgear, High Voltage (HV) equipment Low Voltage (LV) equipment.
The water company has over 400 sites, including water pumping stations, sewage treatment works, water treatment works and sewage pumping stations, many of which require HV maintenance or isolation as required.

Estimated total value of the contract when Southern Water began the procurement process in July 2023 was £120 million.
The framework will be for an initial period of 4 years with an option to extend for a further period of up to 4 years.
