Northumbrian Water has gone out to tender with an AMP8 tankering framework contract worth an estimated £6 million.

Northumbrian Water has a requirement for contractors to provide adhoc tankering services for the transportation of septic sludge, liquid sludge and/or cake sludge using a variety of vehicles including but not limited to rigid tankers, articulated tankers, artic tipper, 8-wheeler rigid body tanker, 8 wheeler rigid tipper, and tractors & barrel.
The services will cover the Northumbrian Water operating area only – the Essex and Suffolk operating area is not included. The requirement is for contractors to provide adhoc tankering services for the transportation of septic sludge, liquid sludge and/or cake sludge using a variety of vehicles including but not limited to rigid tankers, articulated tankers, artic tipper, 8-wheeler rigid body tanker, 8 wheeler rigid tipper, and tractors & barrel.
The framework is being tendered in the following Lots:
- Lot 1 Wastewater Tankering
- Lot 2 Water Sludges Tankering
- Lot 3 NWG Grow Tankering
- Lot 4 Rural Tankering
Initial contract term is 36 months with a further potential 36 months extension option. Northumbrian Water is looking to appoint up to 16 suppliers to the framework agreement.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 28 March 2025. Expressions of interest for the tender must be sent to the e-mail address This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it before the deadline date of 21st March 2025 at 12 noon. Once expression of interest has been received that contains the details below, applicants will be given access to the Ariba portal within 48 hours from request.
The portal will contain all the tender documents associated with this procurement that are available at the time. An email link will also be provided to the email address provided to access the portal.
The deadline for return of the completed Tender is 28th March 2025 at 12 noon. When sending expressions of interest, applicants must provide the following information:
1) Full company name
2) Main contact details of the person who will be given access to the Ariba portal - Name, job title, E mail address and telephone
The procurement process will be conducted electronically with all documents and communication being managed through the Northumbrian Water Ariba eSourcing Spend Management portal.
