Northumbrian Water Group has awarded a number of contracts under its £8 billion AMP8 Capital Delivery Construction and Engineering Frameworks.
The water company went out to tender with the major contract in July 2023, following the award of other framework agreements for professional services contracts which lay the foundations for its new supply chain landscape or 'Living Water Ecosystem'.
NWL went out to tender for suppliers to join the ecosystem as either Enterprise Design & Construction Partners or Wider Ecosystem Partners.
Northumbrian’s new delivery model contains two primary delivery routes as follows:
Short Cycle Work:
NWL's Integrated Delivery Services (IDS) team delivers lean and agile short cycle capital investment works on its water and wastewater assets, as well as delivering infrastructure services for its developer customers.
Long Cycle Work:
The majority of NWL's complex long cycle programmes will be delivered by the Living Water Enterprise (LWE) – a fully integrated, highly collaborative delivery vehicle.
These latest awards relate to the following Living Water Enterprise Lots:
Lot A - Infrastructure (North East)
- Esh Stantec Ltd
- Avove Ltd
- Northstone (NI) Ltd
Lot B - Treatment (North East)
- Costain Ltd
- Mott MacDonald Bentley Ltd
- BAM Nuttall Ltd
Lot C - Treatment (Essex & Suffolk)
MWH Treatment Ltd
Kier Integrated Services Ltd has also been selected as a Reserve Contractor for the Living Water Enterprise.
All of the Framework Agreement contracts will run for an initial 7 year term, with a potential to extend for a further period of 5 years.
Northumbrian Water Group will publish a separate award notice for the Wider Ecosystem Lots on completion of that procurement process.
