Southern Water has gone out to tender with an AMP7 framework contract for network digitalisation sewer monitors worth an estimated £7.5 million.

The water company is looking to significantly and rapidly improve the visibility of the gravity wastewater network. Southern Water is planning to achieve this by installing 10,000s (up to 30,000 across Kent, East and West Sussex, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight) of sewer monitors.
It also intends to develop in parallel the associated analytics to make appropriate and effective use of the additional information to prevent sewer blockages developing into a pollution or flooding incident.
Sothern Water is keen to ensure that interested suppliers are able to undertake the production of sewer level monitors and associated services and can deliver the full scope of the work to provide sewer level monitors across SWS’s requirements.
The utility is looking to appoint up to five suppliers to the framework, which will initially run for a four year term with a further four year extension option from 2025.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 3rd September 2021 – click here to access the tender documentation.
