Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract for the supply and services of filtration media worth an estimated £60 million in total.
The water company is looking to enter a partnership with a service provider to provide a range of services, including:
- Supply of filtration media (sand and GAC)
- Installation/removal of media in wash units for advanced flushing (where applicable), to
- bring within the required water quality limits
- Removal of existing used media and off-site disposal
- Cleaning of the filter internals
- Inspection of filters vessels
- Capital Maintenance of filter structure and internals, if required
- Installation of new media
- Flush media to waste and return filter back to Scottish Water
- Provision of hand over pack to Scottish Water, including report on condition of filler vessel
Initial contract term is three years, with three further one year extension options.
