Northumbrian Water has gone out to tender with a wide-ranging AMP7 framework contract for construction and engineering works on its water and wastewater assets worth up to £150 million in total.

The water company is looking to put construction and engineering frameworks in place for work on its water and waste water networks and treatment plant to support the delivery of its AMP7 capital programme.
The works relate to both its Northumbrian Water Operating Area and the Essex and Suffolk Water Operating Area. The framewortk is being tendered in three separate Lots:
- Lot 1: Water and Waste Water Network Construction and Engineering for Northumbrian Water Operating Area ( Framework value: £10 million to £50 million)
- Lot 2: Water and Waste Water Treatment Construction and Engineering — Northumbrian Water Operating Area ( Framework value: £10 million to £50 million)
- Lot 3: Water Treatment Construction and Engineering — Essex and Suffolk Water Operating Area ( (Framework value: £10 million to £50 million)
Projects released via the frameworks will be competitively tendered between participants and the schemes will generally be beteen £500,000 to £10 million.
Scope of works covered under the wide-ranging frameworks include:
- Capital works for water and wastewater networks infrastructure projects - including new assets, renewals, modifications and refurbishments e.g. sewer flooding schemes, strategic water mains, sewer refurbishment and rehabilitation etc.
- Capital works for non-infrastructure projects - including new assets, renewals, modifications and refurbishments e.g. water, sewage and sludge treatment facilities, pumping stations, boreholes and service reservoirs.
The new frameworks are intended to support Northumbrian Water's capital delivery programme and to provide additional capacity where required under the utility’s ‘Runway 3’ existing framework partners.
Northumbrian Water will continue to deliver its main capital programme with its Runway 2 partners.
Expressions of interest must be sent before the deadline date - the deadline for return of completed tenders is 27 January 2021 at 16.00.
