The Harwich Haven Authority has gone out to tender with a contract for dredging and pumping works worth an estimated £90 million.

The contract covers the capital dredge for the Harwich and Felixstowe harbour and navigation channel.
The work will involve the deepening of the harbour and approach channel by dredging and sea disposal from the current depth of -14.5 m CD to -16.0 m CD.
Bidders will also be required to submit a variant bid for a depth of -15.5 m CD. Work includes all plant, equipment and labour to complete dredging and disposal to licensed areas at sea.
Total volume of material to be dredged is approximately 20 m cubic metres.
