Yorkshire Water has awarded a contract for sludge management services at clean water sites worth an estimated £1.5 million in total.
Services to be provided under the contract are on clean water sites and include managing the sludges on a number of sites, loading of vehicles and transporting up to 20,000 t of sludges to the final disposal site - usually the Yorkshire Water landfill site. The supplier will also manage the landfill operation.
The sites are in the York area of Yorkshire - the main site is located at the Elvington Water Treatment Works
The single operator framework agreement, which will run for an initial contract term of three years, has been awarded to locally based firm Elvington Plant Hire.
