Yorkshire Water has awarded a framework contract for telemetry real-time services worth an estimated £6 million.
The data will be delivered in the form of raw data as information on visualised displays/dashboards, in line with Yorkshire Water’s current strategy to provide situational awareness on a single pane of glass for the control room.
The framework, which does not cover the installation of new devices or equipment, will support a series of small and larger scale projects, including increased intelligent alarms to reduce alarm noise to ensure the system is not overloaded with alerts and alarms where a genuine alarm could be missed.
Data sources include:
- regional telemetry system
- water treatment works
- waste water treatment work
- pumping stations
- level monitoring loggers
- flow and pressure loggers
- energy consumption/generation
- SCADA
- sludge transport and tanker operations
- rainfall
- data from 3rd party loggers
Initial contract term is 4 years with an extension option of up to a further 2 years.
Bradford-based Aqua Consultants and London firm Larsen and Toubro Infotech Ltd have both been awarded places on the framework, two of four companies in the bidding for the work.
