Scottish Water has awarded a contract to provide a managed security service for its Information Technology related infrastructure and systems with an annual value of between half a million to one million pounds and a total estimated value of £7 million.
Multinational IT equipment and services company Fujitsu will provide a managed security service for the water company with a focus on threat detection and response. The supplier will also be required to leverage threat intelligence and advanced analytics capabilities that are on offer from the market place to not only address advanced detection, but also support automation and orchestration of incident response activities.
The current contract for security services expired on 31st August 2018.
Scottish Water had sought to procure a more hybrid service delivery model associated with security services - a blend of both traditional Managed Detection and Response services (MDR) and Managed Security Services (MSS). The new model is intended to improve threat detection, incident response, continuous-monitoring capabilities, and management of the utility’s security posture.
The contreact incorporates three annual extension options.
