Southern Water awards £multi-million 2nd phase Thanet sewers contract

Southern Water has awarded a £multi-million pound contract for the 2nd phase of the Thanet Sewers ground water protection scheme.

The AMP 6 works will address potential defects in the sewer system principally in Ramsgate and Broadstairs catchments. Works principally includes the sealing or lining of tunnels, restoring the integrity of the sewer system, and where necessary, providing additional storage.

The main works consist of:

  • detailed solution design
  • tunnel enabling works
  • manhole construction works
  • sealing of adits
  • construction of new storage solutions - provision of storage in Adits 17 km
  • rehabiliation of 29 km existing sewers

The contract has been awarded to the Terra Pfeiffer Matt Durbin JV Ltd.
