Wessex Water has appointed AECOM to provide detailed design services for the reconstruction of its Durleigh Water Treatment Works.
The services to be provided by the consultant comprise undertaking the detailed design of the civil engineering and ME&I works, together with integrating the design elements undertaken by others.
Wessex is planning a substantial upgrade to the treatment works because of deteriorating raw water quality, including issues around the presence of pesticides, manganese, taste and odour.
The proposed refurbishment scheme would triple the capacity at the works in order to safeguard water supply to Bridgewater.
AECOM is one of six Tier 1 Design Capital Delivery partners appointed to deliver Wessex Water's programme of work during AMP6 and potentially AMP7.
