Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract to find Information Technology Directorate Partners worth up to an estimated £300 million.
Scottish Water has started the procurement process to select suppliers to operate its IT estate – the utility is looking for suppliers to enter into a partnering approach with Scottish Water to deliver its ambitious vision for the extensive future use of technology throughout the business.
Scottish Water intends to select and negotiate with the new partners to replace existing outsourcing contracts during 2017 for transition to the new contracts in 2018.
The total estimated value for the contract is put at between £200 million to £300 million over the intended 8 year period.
This contract is divided into the following Lots:
Lot 1: Customer Centric Services - focussed on the end-to-end customer experience, application management and management of change. (£100m to £150m)
Lot 2: IT Infrastructure and Logistics - focussed on the delivery of the core IT services including infrastructure and networks. (£100m to £150m)
Included in both Lots are partnership and project delivery services where the water company wants suppliers to work closely with it to deliver innovative strategies and designs that will drive substantial new value for Scottish Water from technology.
Scottish Water is looking to invite up to six candidates to participate in the tender process, with a view to appointing 1 candidate per lot at final award stage. Bidders will also need to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and operate an ethical supply chain.
Scottish Water intends to issue a pre-qualification questionnaire to potential candidates towards the end of January 2017.
