United Utilities awards £3.5m mobile generator contracts

United Utilities has awarded two contracts for the hire of mobile generators and for the service and repair of fixed and mobile diesel generators and associated equipment.

Lot 1 for the hire of mobile generators is to cover the hire of all types of generators and associated equipment, used extensively throughout the water company's operational areas is for both planned and reactive services available on a 24/7/365 basis.

Lot 2 for the service and repair of fixed and mobile diesel generators and associated equipment for both planned and reactivework will also be available on a 24/7/365 basis. The contract for Lot 2 includes all service, repair and overhaul including upgrade requirements of fixed and mobile diesel generators and associated equipment located throughout the company's operational areas.

Wakefield firm Generator Power Ltd has been awarded both Lots 1 and 2 of the contract, which has an estimated value of around £3.5 million.
