The Environment Agency has awarded two vehicle maintenance contracts worth an estimated £34 million in total.
The national framework contract covers the service, inspection, maintenance and repair (SIMAR) of construction and agricultural plant and commercial vehicles for the Agency.
The suppliers will be required to manage the service, inspection, maintenance and repair of its fleet of construction and agricultural equipment and ancillary plant equipment, including 4x4 tractors, excavators and commercial vehicles.
Hitachi Capital Vehicles Solutions, one of three companies in the bidding, was awarded Lot 1 which covers construction and agricultural plant SIMAR, with an estimated contract value of £18 million.
Lot 2 for commercial vehicle SIMAR, worth an estimated £16 million, was won by BT Fleet Ltd, one of four firms who bid for the work.
