Scottish Water awards £18m pump hire framework contracts

Scottish Water has awarded two separate contracts for pump hire worth an estimated £18 million in total.

Hire of Power Generation and Pumps The new awards form part of an overall framework contract for a pumps and generator hire solution to support the water company’s capital and operational delivery programmes.

The framework agreement will run for an initial period of 6 years, in line with Scottish Water's Regulatory cycle, with 6 further one year extension options beyond that.

The  framework agreements  will be utilised by both Scottish Water and contractors/suppliers working directly or indirectly for the water company.

Xylem Water Solutions UK Ltd and SLD Pumps & Power, have both been awarded contracts, two of five companies who were bidding on the framework. Both companies have already separately been awarded other contracts under the framework, which has an estimated overall value of £70 million.
