Anglian Water Business has signed a groundbreaking national water supply contract with luxury hotel group Malmaison and Hotel du Vin.

 The contract, brokered by the UK energy and water division of procurement outsourcing specialist Inprova Group, is the first UK-wide, single-contract, multi-site deal to leverage the benefits of upcoming market reform.

With offices across the UK, the utilities consultancy is one of the UK’s top 10 Third Party Intermediaries (TPIs). Currently, the company manages over 3,000 gas, electricity and water supply contracts approaching £1.5 billion.

The deal covers Malmaison and Hotel du Vin's entire UK portfolio of 33 luxury boutique hotels, and is set to see annual savings rise to more than £75,000 when the market opens in April 2017.

The savings will be made through a combination of lower tariffs, consolidated billing and a range of efficiency measures; from energy audits to the installation of automated meter reading (AMR) devices in every hotel.

Our Active Water Management service will ensure substantial savings throughout the chain, while our consolidated billing and outstanding customer service will mean improved efficiencies, added value and a simplified process.”

 Paul Garratt, Director of Accounts at Inprova Energy, said:

“We recommended Anglian Water Business (AWB) to Malmaison and Hotel du Vin after an extensive six-way competitive tender process. This resulted in an innovative contract by AWB that is now delivering both tariff savings and dramatically improved value and service levels across their growing UK portfolio of distinctive hotels. We are confident that further cost savings will be identified through a range of water efficiency measures built into the contract.”

 Businesses in Scotland have benefitted from a de-regulated water market since 2008. From April next year, all non-household sites in England will be able to negotiate new arrangements for their water and wastewater supplies. Anglian Water Business already supplies more than 125,000 businesses and public sector bodies across the UK.
