Scottish Water has gone out to tender with a contract for emergency potable water tankering services worth an estimated £2.4 million.
The water company is looking to appoint up to ten suppliers to the framework agreement , which will run for up to 12 years with an initial period of 6 years and a option to extend it by a further 6 years.
The contract covers the provision of emergency potable water tankering services on an intermittent basis as required to maintain Scottish Water’s piped water supply.
This will involve supporting tankering operations across Scotland, operating Scottish Water's tankers, and when required using the contractor’s own portable water tankers. The tankers may be used to pump into service reservoirs to augment supplies, to discharge direct to mains or to fill static tanks as required.
Provision of the service on a 24/7 basis is a key requirement of the contract, preferably within 1-6 hours of notification.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 12th February 2016 – click here to access the tender documentation.
