The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a second framework contract for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) services – this time in its South West region – which is worth an estimated £8 million.
Last week the Agency tendered a £12 million contract for MEICA services in the South East.
While the framework is primarily intended to meet the needs of the Environment Agency, the successful bidders may also be required to provide the goods/services on the same terms that are agreed as a result of the tender to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, and to its associated bodies.
The Agency is looking to appoint a maximum of three suppliers to the framework, which will run for up to four years and is worth between £6 million to £8 million.
Services to be provided under the MEICA framework include Routine Planned Preventative Maintenance, provision of a 24 hour 365 day Reactive Works service; and project works.
Planned Preventative Maintenance, Reactive Maintenance and ad hoc project works for FCRM operational assets, are being tendered in the following Lots:
Lot 1 — Devon and Cornwall;
Lot 2 — South Wessex;
Lot 3 — North Wessex.
The framework will be awarded for an initial period of 2 years with options to extend for up to a further 2 years. Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 26th February - click here to access the tender documentation.
