The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a framework contract for Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) services in the South East worth an estimated £12 million.
While the framework is primarily intended to meet the needs of the Environment Agency, the successful bidders may also be required to provide the goods/services on the same terms that are agreed as a result of the tender to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs, and to its associated bodies.
The Agency is looking to appoint a maximum of three suppliers to the framework, which will run for up to four years and is worth between £6 million to £12 million.
Services to be provided under the MEICA framework include Routine Planned Preventative Maintenance, provision of a 24 hour 365 day Reactive Works service; and project works.
Scope of the work will cover the delivery of mechanical and electrical preventative and reactive maintenance, repair, overhaul, breakdown, general engineering services, refurbishments and project work for a wide range of assets, including:
- pumping stations;
- weirs;
- sluice gates;
- telemetry outstations;
- and other water control structures.
The framework will be awarded for an initial period of 2 years with options to extend for up to a further 2 years - main place of performance is predominantly south east England.
Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 19th February - click here to access the tender documentation.
