Southern Water has gone out to tender with two more Lots valued at £16 million as part of a major contract worth an estimated £50 million for IT application and infrastructure support in AMP6 in total.
Southern Water has an ongoing need to deliver managed IT services and projects, for which existing contracts are expiring. A transformation of the IT environment at the water company is currently under way to bring significant improvements in value for money, service quality, reduced service cost and continuous improvement.
The water company is now planning to establish a new supplier ecosystem by partnering with specialist managed service partners.
The contract is divided into the following four separate Lots which will be awarded for a period of 36 months with options to extend for up to 2 further annual periods
Lot 1 — Infrastructure and Hosting Services;
Lot 2 — Networking, Communications and Telemetry;
Lot 3 — End User Computing;
Lot 4 — Applications Management and Business Services Integrator.
The water company already has an ongoing procurement exercise in place for Lots 2 and 3, which are therefore out of scope for the purposes of this tender. The purpose of the Contract Notice for the tender is to publish Southern Water’s intention to invite responses for Lots 1 and 4, either separately or together.
The water company is reserving the right to award a single contract for the delivery of Lots 1 and 4 which are worth £7 million and £9 million respectively.
The performance of the contract is subject to a number of specific conditions, including IS0 14000:2004 which applies to all lots.
Time limit for receipt of requests for documents or for accessing documents is 15th December, with a deadline of 4th January 2016 for receipt of tenders or requests to participate.
