Environment Agency tenders £8m flood forecasting system contract

The Environment Agency has gone out to tender for a replacement forecasting system, also referred to as the Future Flood Forecasting System (FFFS), potentially worth up to £8 million.

According to the Agency, the need to replace the system presents the opportunity to design a flood forecasting system that is nationally consistent, has greater resilience and is more efficient and effective to operate.

In order to realise business benefits soonest, the aim is to implement the FFFS (core capability) by the end of 2016 and start the transition of users from the old to the new system.

Duration of the contract or time limit for completion is three years from the contract award. A maximum of five suppliers will be invited to tender for the contract.

Time limit for receipt of tenders or requests to participate is 30th November – click here to access the tender documentation.
