Two joint ventures will partner with Thames Water in a new alliance that will deliver up to £1 billion worth of business over the next five years.
The new coalition has further potential to deliver water networks and developer services for Thames Water for up to the next 15 years.
Agility, comprising J. Murphy & Sons and Morrison Utility Services, and KCD, Kier Services Ltd and Clancy Docwra, were selected following a rigorous procurement process.
A total of 130 assessors from 17 Thames Water departments evaluated submissions from potential delivery partners over the past three months.
Both Agility and KCD were selected for having the appropriate capacity and capability to deliver Thames Water’s services, as well as demonstrating the cultures and behaviours that align with the company’s vision and values.
Bob Collington OBE, managing director of wholesale water at Thames Water, said:
“Agility and KCD will join the Thames Water family, working alongside us and our other partners in eight2O, to deliver our AMP6 programme and beyond.
“We strongly believe these two alliances will create aligned goals and objectives throughout the supply chain, standing us in the best possible position to deliver our customer and stakeholder promises.”
Collington said the alliance and eight2O will jointly agree processes for work allocation based on “best customer outcome and cost”.
He added:
“I am determined to ensure that investment and delivery are customer-focused at all times. By bringing greater innovation to process and techniques, I hope we can build on the past to improve performance further in the future.”

Targets for AMP6 include reducing leakage and enhancing the service Thames Water offers its 9 million water customers across London and the Thames Valley. New technology introduced to the developer services portfolio is also expected to promote easy, self service options to improve customer experience.
On top of water networks and developer services, there is optional scope to add further strands of work in the future, including metering and waste water network activity.
