Takeover bid for Scott Wilson confirmed

Following recent movements in its share price, international design and engineering consultancy Scott Wilson Group has told the London Stock Exchange today that it has received approaches with regard to a possible acquisition of the company.

United Utilities has announced that it will impose a hosepipe ban which will come into force on Friday July 9 at 6am.

The Amplio Group (London, U.K.), a leading international operator and investor in the renewable energy and environmental sectors, has announced that it has acquired a majority stake in Puresep Holdings, the UK water purification, filtration and separation company.

Northumbrian Water is starting work today on a £5 million upgrade to Consett sewage treatment works, near Ebchester.

Ofwat is currently consulting on proposals to grant SSE Water variations to two appointments to provide water and sewerage services.

Southern Water has been fined £3,000 after it admitted polluting 2km of a Sussex stream with raw sewage, killing up to a hundred brown trout and devastating the fish population for the second time in five years.

United Utilities has published its Annual Report and Accounts for the financial year ended 31 March 2010.

Northern Ireland Regional Development Minister Conor Murphy has announced the appointment of four new interim non-executive Directors to the Board of NI Water (NIW).

Iron technology leader Saint-Gobain PAM UK has published its second Sustainability Report.

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water has announced the completion of its five-year AMP4 £1.4 billion investment programme which has included a £225 million programme to renew 1,800 kilometres of water mains.
