Carillion revenues down, profits up

Support services company Carillion is reporting strong earnings growth this morning with the publication of its annual results to 31st December 2011. However, revenues are down 9.1% to £5.1 billion.

A report in the Sunday Times on 27th February has claimed that water companies in England and Wales have overcharged consumers almost £1.7 billion for services they have not used.

Interserve confirms offer for Mouchel

Outsourcing and infrastructure company Interserve Plc has confirmed that it has made an approach to the Board of Mouchel with a proposal to acquire the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Mouchel.

Anglo American plc  and Lafarge SA have announced an agreement to combine their cement, aggregates, ready-mixed concrete, asphalt and contracting businesses in the United Kingdom, comprising Tarmac Limited and Lafarge Cement UK, Lafarge Aggregates and Concrete UK .

Belton benefits from £4M water pipe investment

Yorkshire Water is progressing well with its £4.1million scheme to further improve the security of its water supplies to 9,000 properties in and around Belton.

A new discussion paper published by Anglian Water on sustainable water allocation is calling for increased water and water rights trading by all water users – not simply the water companies.

Cambridge Water is asking members of the public to notify them as soon as they spot a leak along the thousands of kilometers of pipework located within its supply area in a bid to help it save more water.

Global management, engineering and development consultancy Mott MacDonald has been appointed by Northumbrian Water Limited (NWL) as one of four consultants on its Technical Services framework in the UK.

More than 2,300 people who use water but have never received a bill could face substantial back-charges after having their homes identified in the opening fortnight of an audit of Thames Water's entire customer base.

Yorkshire Water has spent £750,000 in the past year on surveying activities to locate and remove sewer blockages.
