Dutch engineering group Grontmij has sold Trett Consulting, which specialises in dispute resolution and contractual advice, to construction consultant Driver Group for £3m.

Carillion plc said that trading in the period 1 January to 2 May 2012 was in line with expectations with the publication of its latest Interim Management Statement at the firm’s Annual General Meeting today.

The Board of engineering and construction group Costain has said it remains committed to delivering its ambition of doubling profits in the medium term with the publication today of its latest Interim Management Statement for the period from 1 January 2012 to date. Costain's order book currently stands at £2.4 billion.

Galliford Try plc, the housebuilding and construction group, said that recent wins in water have reinforced its number one position in the sector. However, it described the construction market as remaining difficult with the publication of its interim management statement for the period 1 January to 8 May 2012.

Balfour Beatty, the international infrastructure group, has maintained its order book at a level in excess of £15 billion according to its latest Interim Management Statement, covering the period 1 January to 8 May 2012 published this morning.

Murphy Group joins British Water

Engineering group J. Murphy & Sons Limited has become a member of British Water in a bid to further increase its profile in the water & wastewater sector.

 

Severn Trent Water is working with Derby City Trading Standards to turn counterfeit alcohol into electricity.

 

Engineering firm Costain has won a significant contract to build a new duplicate raw water main for Northumbrian Water from an existing intake point at Ovingham on the River Tyne, west of Newcastle, to Horsley treatment works.

 

Global provider of professional technical and management support services AECOM, and a key supplier to the UK water sector, announced today that it has formed a partnership with the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), an independent, not-for-profit organization that works to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and drive sustainable water use by business and cities, on its global cities program.

A report in yesterday’s Sunday Times newspaper has suggested that former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair may have advised two sovereign wealth funds  - the China Investment Corporation (CIC) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) on investing in Thames Water.
