Ofwat has launched a consultation on a proposal to allow four water companies to seek further funding during the AMP8 investment programme.
Ofwat has told the Competition and Markets Authority “we stand by our PR24 determinations” as the competition regulator begins the process of examining requests by five water companies to review Ofwat’s decisions on their AMP8 business plans.
The Competition & Markets Authority (CMA) has requested an extension of six months to the process that will see it redetermine the price reviews for five water companies.
Ahead of the announcement of Ofwat’s PR24 Final Determinations for the water companies on 19th December, the Competition and Markets Authority yesterday published new rules and guidance on the redeterminations process.
Ofwat has told the Competition and Markets Authority that the appeals submissions by Anglian Water, Bristol Water, Northumbrian Water and Yorkshire Water “represent an attempt to unpick selected parts of the package without necessarily considering it as a whole.”
