United Utilities has moved rapidly to become Scotland’s second largest water retailer in just twelve months.
The Warrington-based company has won 150 new business customers since it obtained a water supply licence to operate in the competitive Scottish water market. United Utilities has established a new dedicated sales force in Scotland to service the new customers and to win more business.
The customers cover around 2,000 sites, including, hotels, retailers, manufacturers, transport firms and Scotland’s oldest school Loretto Edinburgh are all switching to United Utilities Scotland to save money and improve operational efficiency. The new business is expected to bring in an extra £10m in revenue.
The news was confirmed yesterday in the water firm’s year-end report to the City of London stock exchange.
