The company is investing £200 million across the catchment over the next four years to reduce storm overflow operations and improve the quality of treated wastewater that is returned to the environment.

Plan are set to be submitted to the local authority in the coming months for two projects at its treatment works in Near Sawrey and Far Sawrey.

Subject to planning permission, at Near Sawrey and Far Sawrey, works would include the installation of FujiClean units. Originating from Japan, it is an innovative chemical-free sewage treatment process for use at smaller sites.

The event is being held at Braithwaite Hall in Far Sawrey between 4-7pm.
