Severn Trent is investing £4.3 million in Great Barrow as part of a scheme to replace ageing water pipes and provide the area with a more reliable water supply.

Work is set to begin on the delivery of a major project of upgrades to the water network in the village, modernising infrastructure and ensuring its resilience for the future.
Crews are set to start working to install over 25 miles of new pipe with work set to begin on Monday, March 31st throughout the areas Great Barrow, Mickle Trafford and Aldford. All work will be completed by April 2027.
Catherine Webb, Community Communications Officer for Severn Trent, said:
“These works are part of a huge project for Severn Trent that will bring massive benefits to Great Barrow and our wider region.
“The new modern materials will last up to 100 years and create a more secure network for all of our customers.”
To provide as much information as possible to customers, a drop-in session is set to take place today at Barrow Village Hall, Hall Lane, Great Barrow, CH3 7LN between 4pm and 7pm.to provide full details of the scheme, its benefits and provide people with a chance to ask questions.
