South East Water completes £3.7m project to increase water storage in Sevenoaks

South East Water has completed an 18 month long project to increase the size of its drinking water storage tank in Sevenoaks, after the previous reservoir stood for more than 90 years.

SOUTH EAST WATER GENERIC 2

The project, which started in May 2019, saw South East Water invest more than £3.7 million to increase the size of the storage tank from three million litres to five million litres.

Now complete, the tank will serve the residents of Sevenoaks and surrounding areas and forms part of the company’s £7 million investment in the area.

The water company will begin the second phase of another £2.8 million project in Sevenoaks in Spring 2021, where it will install more than three kilometres of new water main through Knole Park.

Paul Beaumont, Project Manager said:

“We are really pleased to have completed this project which will keep taps flowing in Sevenoaks for decades to come.

“Just as the last reservoir served the residents of Sevenoaks, the new storage tank will help to supply the growing population now and into the future.”
