A strong order book and the acquisition of a new business have been marked by a move into larger premises by Birmingham-based meter solutions company, MWA Technology.
The new premises provide more than a five-fold increase in MWA’s warehousing and office space to cater for increased orders and accommodate new staff.
Empire Controls becomes a new division of MWA Technology and expands the company’s activities into new markets including; gas valves, gas detection equipment, gas proving, oil fill cabinets, level gauges and fire fighting.
MWA’s director, Martin Wardell said: “These are significant developments for our company. Having firmly established MWA as one of the leading companies in the provision of meters and ancillary metering equipment in the gas, water, steam, oil, electricity, energy/heat sectors, the new division broadens our horizon into new markets.
“Our new premises near to Birmingham’s Spaghetti Junction, and our recent recruitment of respected industry specialists, places us in a strong position to succeed, even in these difficult credit crunch times. I’m confident of our continued growth and of reaching our stated goal of a £5 million turnover by 2012,” explained Mr Wardell.
MWA Technology is one of just three companies in the UK to have secured ‘authorized stockist’ status for Elster-Kent water meters. MWA Technology currently has more than 500 customers throughout the UK. MWA Technology meters have found their way into some impressive national venues and institutions from London’s Kew Gardens, Royal Albert Hall and Broadgate Tower to Birmingham’s Town Hall, the National Indoor Arena and many more.
