South East Water is inviting residents in Yateley to come and see plans for a new water pipeline to help to secure water supplies for existing and future customers.
The water company is proposing to install a new 4.5 kilometre strategic water main through Sandhurst and Yateley.
Forming part of the company’s £424 million investment programme between 2015 and 2020, the new water pipeline is required to increase storage and distribution capacity of the existing network to secure supplies for current and future customers.
South East Water is holding a public exhibition in Blackwater next week to allow local residents and organisations to see its proposals.
Ben McKellar, Project Manager at South East Water, said:
“This important scheme will not only secure water supplies to local residents and businesses in Yateley but will also allow us to distribute more water to towns further west as the areas grow in the future.”
“We are still at the initial planning stages and we are committed to working closely with the local community early to ensure their views are listened to.”
