Scott Wilson Group plc, the global integrated design and engineering consultancy for the built and natural environments, has released its Interim Management Statement for the period from 15 December 2009 to date.
The Group's underlying business performance continues to be consistent with current market expectations, with the performance of its joint ventures ahead of previous indications. Scott Wilson said this provided confidence that overall the company would, at least, meet current expectations
Scott Wilson said that although the UK and Ireland market remains variable and uncertain, the company has been focusing on a strategy of securing and retaining public sector framework contracts. In the last few months Scott Wilson has been appointed or reappointed to a number of such contracts, including Scottish Water. However, the Group said that while prospects for its international business remain good with continued strong growth, in the UK the outlook is much less clear and likely to remain so until well after the general election and the identification by a new government of its priorities for the next five years. Scott Wilson remains confident that with the balance of overseas work and a high proportion of long term frameworks, it is well placed to cope with changing market conditions.
