Bazalgette Tunnel Ltd has been formally designated as the Infrastructure Provider for the Thames Tideway Tunnel project.
On 14 July 2015 Thames Water announced Bazalgette Tunnel Ltd as the preferred bidder to be appointed as the infrastructure provider (IP) to deliver the Tideway Tunnel Project.
Ofwat has followed the amended specification guidance it published in May 2015 in reaching its designation decision.
Bazalgette Tunnel Ltd is a consortium of Allianz Infrastructure Luxembourg I S.a.r.l., Bazalgette (Investments) Ltd, IPP (Bazalgette) Ltd, Dalmore Capital 14 GP Ltd and DIF Bid Co Ltd, none of which are associated companies of Thames Water.
As part of its decision, Ofwat has had to satisfy itself that Bazalgette Tunnel Ltd will be wholly responsible for the TTT Project. The Project Specification Notice sets out the scope of the Project, including the design, construction, testing and commissioning of the Thames Tideway Tunnel and associated infrastructure. Once constructed and accepted by Thames Water, the IP will also be responsible for the operation and maintenance of certain infrastructure provider-owned structures.
The project as tendered reflects this scope - as the successful tenderer, Bazalgette Tunnel Ltd will be obliged to deliver the whole of the scope once a project licence is issued.
