200 new jobs at Thames' new operations centre

Thames Water is aiming to recruit nearly 200 people to work at its new operations nerve centre in Reading's Green Park.

Halcrow, with partners Scott Wilson and BRLi, is to play a part in Europe’s largest flood risk management project.

Waste companies urged to stay within the law

United Utilities is reminding businesses to stick to agreed limits regarding trade effluent consent after a  Cheshire business was fined £15,000 for breaking the law.

KMI Water, the joint venture between Kier Construction, J Murphy and Sons Limited and Interserve Project Services, has been named as preferred bidder for a major infrastructure project in Preston valued at approximately £114m with United Utilities.

Balfour Beatty plc, the leading international infrastructure group, has today issued a confident trading update  for the year ended 31 December 2009 in advance of its preliminary results announcement on 4 March 2010.

Independent engineering and environmental consultancy, Royal Haskoning, has won a competitive bid to provide Surface Water Management Planning services and a Water Cycle Study for a consortium of Stafford, Lichfield, Tamworth and South Staffordshire local councils.

Interserve Plc, the services, maintenance and building group, announced today that the Group has performed well, backed by “excellent cash generation”.

New MD for Sutton and East Surrey Water

Anthony Ferrar has taken over as Managing Director of Sutton and East Surrey Water following the retirement of Nick Fisher at the end of December. Anthony Ferrar joined Sutton and East Surrey Water in 2008 as managing director designate.

Northumbrian Water has announced plans to build new hydroelectric station in the Tees Valley at Selset in partnership with RWE npower renewables.

Horizons, one of Scottish Water’s  stand-alone business,  has taken delivery of its anaerobic digestion plant - the mechanical and electrical works are now underway.
