Almost 9 out of 10 people in Britain want to see investment in new infrastructure – but many also want more of a say in how it’s planned and delivered, according to a new survey published today.

A broad coalition of nations, river basin organizations, business and civil society has announced the creation of the international Paris Pact on Water and Climate Change Adaptation to make water systems more resilient to climate impacts.

The Resilience Task and Finish Group set up by Ofwat to consider what resilience means for the wider water sector has put forward 10 recommendations in its final report, saying “the challenges are significant and it will take many years for the sector to build resilience.”

The Stockholm International Water Institute has just opened the online submission system for abstracts and event proposals for next year’s World Water Week which takes place from 28Th August to 2nd September 2016.

The water industry, working through Water UK, has commissioned a consortium of Atkins, Mott McDonald and NERA to carry out a major project on the resilience of water supplies over at least the next 50 years.

A delegation from the European Investment Bank’s (EIB), European Investment Advisory Hub (EIAH) and the European Commission has visited Wales to highlight the potential opportunities to tap into significant infrastructure financing and maximise the impact of EU funding.

Market Operator Services Limited (MOSL) has today announced the appointment of SQS Group Limited to help define the company’s future testing approach ahead of retail market opening in 2017.

The Consumer Council for Water (CCWater) is urging households across England and Wales to join the battle to reduce the tens of thousands of blockages clogging up our drains and sewers.

Revisions to the CIRIA SuDS Manual, the so-called UK ‘bible’ for Sustainable Drainage System design and delivery, have been welcomed by industry experts for heralding a more pragmatic approach that could help to get more SuDS schemes delivered in future.
