There is just a fortnight left to influence the national programme for representing water consumers in England and Wales over the coming year, the Consumer Council for Water reminds customers. The consultation deadline falls on 19 February 2007.
The programme focuses on core activities for consumers over the next year and beyond:
Value for money - promoting a fairer charging system and getting consumers placed at the heart of the next price review (which will set prices for 2010-15);
Right first time - ensuring that water companies and others concentrate on the consumer experience, working together to solve their problems, ranging from everyday billing complaints to sewer flooding;
Water on tap - ensuring that both water companies and water consumers appreciate the importance of using water wisely.
Dame Yve Buckland, Chair of the Consumer Council for Water, said: "We have set ourselves an ambitious programme of activities, but one which focuses on consumers' core priorities. We welcome people's input to our thinking on these priorities, and will consider all feedback we receive."
