The Planning Inspectorate has launched a public consultation on Hampshire Water Transfer and Water Recycling Project and is inviting people to register and have their say on the national infrastructure project.

The Planning Inspectorate wrote to Southern Water on 25th June notifying them that their application for an order granting development consent for the Hampshire Water Transfer and Water Recycling Project had been accepted.
Interested parties will need to provide their personal details and comments when they register with the Inspectorate. The comments must be about what the person registering considers to be the main issues and impacts and should include as much detail as possible and cover anything that may affect day-to-day life.
The information will be seen by the Inspectorate as the examining authority and published on the Planning Inspectorate website.Once people have registered they will then be able to submit further comments during the examination of the application.
Deadline to submit registration is before 23:59 on 24 August 2026.
People who are registering as an individual will need to provide:
- full name
- address
- email address and telephone number
- registration comments about the project
People registering for an organisation they work or volunteer for will need to provide:
- full name
- name of the charity or organisation they work for
- work address
- email address and telephone number
- registration comments about the project
People registering on behalf of another person or organisation will need to provide:
- full name
- address
- email address and telephone number
- the details of the person, household or organisation they are representingtheir registration comments about the project
