Another step in the legal challenge to the Thames Tideway Tunnel will take place tomorrow morning with a hearing in the Queen’s Bench Division of the High Court before Mr. Justice Ouseley in the Royal Courts Of Justice in London.
Mr. Justice Ouseley will hear four separate requests for Permission to appeal under section 289 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 against the decision by the Secretaries of State for Communities and Local Government and for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs to grant planning consent for the construction of Thames Water’s £4.2 billion Tideway Tunnel in London.
The applicants include the Blue Green London Plan, the Thames Blue-Green Economy and the London Borough Of Southwark.
A Development Consent Order for the project came into force on 24th September following a six month inquiry by the Planning Inspectorate which began in September 2013 and was completed in March 2014.
