Speedy revenues down – but equipment hire up

Severn Barrage scheme to be scrapped

The Government is expected to announce today that the proposed Severn Barrage scheme to generate renewable energy is to be scrapped.

The Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA), the UK’s largest environmental professional association representing over 15,000 practitioners, lhas launched new research calling on Government to introduce mandatory reporting on greenhouse gas emissions.

Britain’s largest water company, Thames Water Utilities Limited, has been ordered to pay more than £10,000 after pleading guilty to one offence of causing silt to enter a tributary of the Bydemill Brook in Wiltshire in 2008.

Thames Water, Britain's biggest water and sewerage firm, has awarded a contract to Black & Veatch to carry out up to £100million of essential work to improve and maintain its sewage and water treatments plants in the Thames Valley region over the next five years.
