South Staffs Water has reached a major milestone in a treatment works upgrade with the completion of the final part of installation for an innovative and environmentally sustainable water-filtration system.

Northumbrian Water has invested £3 million in refurbishing four clarifiers – which remove sediment and other impurities from the raw water at the start of the treatment process – at its Warkworth Water Treatment Works (WTW) in Northumberland.
