SHORELINE MANAGEMENT PLANS ONLINE TOOLA new map-based digital tool will make plans for shoreline management easier to access, understand and use for coastal practitioners and the public alike, the Environment Agency has announced today.

Around 400,000 cubic metres of sand are set to be pumped onto Lincolnshire’s beaches to reduce flood risk to more than 20,000 homes and businesses, 24,500 static caravans and 35,000 hectares of land in a massive Environment Agency-led project.

The Environment Agency has gone out to tender with a contract for the provision of a flood and coastal engineering higher education programme worth up to £4 million.

A blueprint to help to deliver improved protection for people and property nationally, from coastal flooding and erosion was set out yesterday by Phil Woolas, Minister for Climate Change and Flooding.
