Flooding and Flood Defence

The Environment Agency is starting work this week on a permanent flood defence scheme for Westonzoyland in Somerset.

The Environment Agency has launched a new consultation on draft flood risk management plans for England and Wales.

Delegates at the Liberal Democrat party conference have voted to greatly increase spending on flood defences in the UK, together with inceasing the uptake of Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems.

The Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs (Defra) has launched a new consultation setting out its plans to change the current planning system to increase sustainable drainage systems in England.
